For Your Viewing Pleasure: Dark Masculinity

Welcome back to another instalment of For Your Viewing Pleasure, where we take time out of the week to curate a set of photos from the K-pop landscape.

Brooding and hinting at a world unseen, this week’s curation of fashion picks is a journey through dark tones–black, to be specific. Black is certainly an elegant and chic color when it comes to clothes, but the cuts and eventual silhouette established can exude a more dominant masculinity. Bae In-hyuk and Park Seo-ham are upfront with his sleeveless black shirts and dynamic poses, revealing much of their built physiques in a brooding tone. The same goes for Jung Hae-in, but Park Shin-hye and Gong Min-jeung channel masculinity with poise and dark suits that widen their shoulders. On the other hand, Cho Jin-woong, Kim Hee-ae, and Lee Soo-kyung all dominate their shared shot, none paling in comparison to the other two when it comes to assertiveness.
