Welcome to another edition of SB Week in Review. Here’s all the news you might have missed over the past week:

Headlines

  • 205, New Jeans, and Younha were the big winners of this year’s Korean Music Awards — taking home Artist and Album of the Year, Rookie of the Year, and Song of the Year respectively.
  • The SM and HYBE saga continues.
    • A new YouTube channel and Twitter account was launched for SM with HYBE , and kicked off with a proposal to shareholders.
    • Lee Sooman‘s injunciton was granted against SM Entertainment and Kakao, blocking the sale of additional shares.

Debuts & Comebacks

  • Yesung (Super Junior) and Winter (Aespa) came together for “Sensory Flows.”
  • Hwang Minhyun (Seventeen) was smooth in “Hidden Side.” Keep an eye out for out review of his Truth or Lie album!
  • Kim Hyunjoong made a quiet comeback with “My Sun.”
  • Park Woojin (Ab6ix) oozed self confidence in “Top Tier.”
  • OnlyOneOf explored the night scene in “Seoul Drift.”
  • J-Hope danced through NYC in “On the Street” featuring J.Cole.
    • Ahead of the release, Big Hit announced that J-Hope will begin his enlistment soon.

Teasers & Announcements

  • Cravity will be back with “Groovy” on March 6.
  • Also returning on the 6th is Onew with O (Circle) and the title track of the same name.
  • Cherry Bullet will make their return with “P.O.W. (Play on the World)” on March 7.
  • The first MV teaser is out for Yuju‘s “Without You.” Her album O will be out on March 7.
  • LA Poem‘s “The Fire” MV teaser promises drama. The Alchemist will be released on the 8th.
  • Nicole (Kara) has begun to release concept videos ahead of her March 9 single, “Mysterious.”
  • TO1 will drop their special album, Hug, on March 9.
  • Twice will come back on March 10 with Ready to Be.
  • Returning that same day will be Pixy with Chosen Karma.
  • Tan‘s special album Essage will also drop on March 10.
  • The first mood sampler is out for Kai‘s Rover. The mini album will be released on March 13.
  • Jimin will put out the pre-release “Set Me Free pt. 2” on March 17 ahead of the album Face on March 24.
  • NMixx shared the highlight medley for their first mini album Expérgo, out on March 20.
  • The comeback schedule is out for Kingdom‘s History of Kingdom: Part VI Mujin. The group will make their return on March 23.
  • Bam Bam‘s Sour & Sweet is set for a March 28 release.
  • Billlie have begun to tease their March comeback, though no official date has been announced.
  • Kep1er will return on April 10.

Other News

  • After testing positive for propofol and marijuana previously, it was revealed this week that actor Yoo Ah In reportedly also tested positive for cocaine and ketamine.
    • Due to the police investigations, the actor has been replaced in the upcoming season of Hellbound.
  • Rocky left Astro following the expiration of his contract with Fantagio Entertainment.
  • Both Wondae and Munik withdrew from DKZ.
  • Kuhn, Kogyeol, Bitto, Sunyoul, and Gyujin all left Up10tion and Top Entertainment following the expiration of their contracts. Lee Jin Hyuk also decided to leave the agency.
  • Five WJSN members will not be continuing with the group. Xuan Yi, Cheng Xiao, and Mei Qi of Yuehua Entertainment have concluded their promotions with the group, while Luda and Dawon decided to not renew their contracts with Starship Entertainment. The group will move forward as eight.
  • Baek A Yeon announced her upcoming marriage.
